The tsunami disaster was very destructive in the countries the waves had hit. Many of the disaster victims were left homeless, and others were left disabled and most of them without food and health care. The unparalleled scope of the tragedy generated a scope of unprecedented charitable giving from all over the world. Individuals and corporations pledged an estimated five billion united states dollars to help the victims (Stein & Okal, 2005). Humanitarian concerns were generated from both international, regional, and domestic levels. There was an equitable and flexible distribution of the funds for the reconstruction of the destroyed health facilities, schools, roads, electricity, and other infrastructure (Doom, 2017)
