Answer preview WestJet airline company came to being in 1994 when Clive Beddoe, an entrepreneur, found it cheaper to have a private jet for his business travels between Calgary and Vancouver cities. Due to the efficiency of the travels, Clive, together with other company partners, found it brilliant to offer transport to their fellow businessmen (Mark, Crossan, Allaire, & Moore, 2002). The latter used to have business trips between the two cities, which provided a business opportunity that they later commercialized. After consulting with fellow entrepreneurs, Clive and Neeleman formed a partnership. They formulated a business plan to provide a cheap airline service around the western part of Canada. The business plan attracted many investors who raised the capital needed to start the company within a truly short time, which enabled the company to acquire two Boeings. After two years of operation, the company bought a third Boeing airplane. The company’s first offices were in Calgary, Canada. During its early stage, the company flew jet to Edmonton, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, and Winnipeg. Later, WestJet Airlines extended its operation to Moncton, Ottawa, and Hamilton, where the company constructed its international airport. (1231words)
