The Entity-Relationship (ER) Model was developed in 1976 by Peter Chen and contained different groups of entities or natural world objects and their relationships. ER explains the conceptual view of a database that contains un-identical entities. A relational model is defined as a non-procedural model used to model data and use tables or relations (JavaTpoint, 2021). ER and Relational Model are two very distinct models where ER is more of a conceptual model while Relational Model is more of a logical model. However, one of their similarities is that they assume that information can be equated to things that are records and entities.
