Answer previewHospital-acquired infections (HAIs) are a threat to the health and wellbeing of patients. These infections increase healthcare costs and the burden of care for the nurses and doctors, among other healthcare workers. HAIs such as surgical site infections, hospital-acquired pneumonia, urinary tract, bloodstream, and Clostridium difficile infections are prevalent healthcare concerns among patients with prolonged stay (Monegro et al., 2020). While emphasizing Clostridium difficile infections (CDI), preventing this HAI should be a priority to enhance hospital efficacy in delivering quality care and reducing patients’ length of stay.
