How the animals are treated matter to me, in fact, they should only be used if there is no other option. The animals should be addressed in a manner that causes them no harm. The researchers should use the three Rs so that they can help to lower the damage that is created to animals. The three Rs include; Replace, Reduce and Refine. Replace means where possible the animals should be replaced with alternative techniques (National Research Council, 2010). Reduce factors using the least number of animals as possible and refine methods using techniques that are less harmful to the animals and improving their living conditions.
