A major challenge to encounter is the need to integrate the human service needs for children of rape to the sample population’s demographic characteristics. In this case, neither the quantitative approach (facts and large sample size) nor the qualitative approach (breadth and detail) could satisfactorily address concerns on effectiveness and prevalence. The best approach for this study is a mixed-method (Campbell et al., 2016). I will need to gather some quantitative data on the number or proportion of children affected in sample population and human service prevalence to address the concerns. I will also need to gather qualitative data on the community’s perceptions and characteristics of the unique needs of children of rape and the strength and limitations of the services.
