Static packet filtering is one of these methodologies. This is a technique used to control access on IP address basis, source port number, and destination IP address. Some of its significant advantages are that it has ease configuration on all routers, good network knowledge for the administrator, and an easy configuration on many routers (Touboul, 2018). On the other hand, it has several setbacks. Such include, challenging to maintain due to large ACL amounts and the presence of IP addresses for filtering.
