Personality refers to an individual’s collective ideas, behaviors, cognition and emotional patterns which are expressed in his decisions, words, and actions According to Swift and Peterson (2019) personality is the totality of who an individual. Two distinct approaches exist to measure personality. The first is objective tests which are measured from the individual’s responses. Objective tests depend on the person’s view of himself and are independent of the opinion of the examiner. They measure personality by giving the person a series of questions with multiple choices to describe their attitudes, behaviors, actions, and inclinations. An example is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The other method of measuring personality is through subjective tests. These rely on the judgments of the examiner about the character of the subject. Subjective tests introduce stimuli that prompt the respondent to respond and thereby uncover unconscious facts about themselves.
