The Open Educational Resources (OER) introduces the study of sociology as a field that enlightens how groups of people interact in their societies. The study also informs how sociologists learn about different cultures to understand social influences and behavioral patterns. Traver (2021) explains that conducting these studies requires the sociologists to identify an appropriate research approach to implement, whether quantitative or qualitative, to understand human behavior in-depth. In the process, the author emphasizes that sociologists should apply paradigms or theories from famous philosophers and theorists like Karl Max and Emile Durkheim. Worth noting, these individuals differed in their frameworks, but they shared a common aspect of sociological imagination. In this case, they situate personal troubles within a framework that addresses issues from a public lens, thus understanding culture in-depth. (619words)
