Change is an inevitable part of life, affecting human beings, organizations, businesses, industries, and communities. Organizations may be affected by two forces of change, namely, internal and external forces (Rizescu & Tileag, 2016). Internal forces of change are factors within the organization that affect the organization’s internal functioning, such as a change in the organization’s structure or introducing new policies. In contrast, external forces are factors beyond the organization’s reach that may shape external business activities in a way that is beyond the organization’s control. External factors may include anything from earthquakes to the introduction of new technological innovations. All these factors, for instance, technology, may affect the organization positively or negatively, and it depends on how the organization manages the changes that affect it.
