I find the “I am” statements used in the book of John to be such instrumental. One of the “I am” is where Jesus answers, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). In this text, Jesus wanted to mean that he was the only solution, that is, the way, the truth and the life. The second “I am” is from John 15:5 where Jesus states that “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” With this text, Jesus was referring to the life that people lead to salvation. That only those who have gotten saved that can bear the fruit. The “I am” in the book of John are used to show the gospel and what people are to accepted after salvation. In my opinion, I find this to be correct, for in one way or the other each and every “I am” makes one think of what is next after they get saved (Bible, 2000)(442words)
