High blood pressure, means a lot of pressure than usual pushing on the arteries walls. Having a high blood pressure measurement above normal may result in hypertension. However, the disease can be controlled by treatment and lifestyle changes. Antihypertensive drugs are medications used to treat hypertension (Mills, Stefanescu, & He, 2020). They are grouped into different classes or categories based on their mechanism of action in lowering blood pressure. Changing lifestyle can help manage the disease including eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol intake.
