Addictions are drug-related and can be defined as the desire to do anything against the individual’s will. This desire could be the consumption of alcohol, cocaine, or nicotine (Barreto, 2015). It could also be taking something as harmful as caffeine that is consumed on a day-to-day basis (Barreto, 2015). Addiction could also take the form of doing something in excess, such as gambling, exercise, watching TV, working, sleeping (Barreto, 2015). Furthermore, addiction could also be enjoying an everyday act in excess to the point of disrupting one’s life, for example, weightlifting, sex, pornography, and winning. Such actions could bring harm or imbalance in an individual’s life (Barreto, 2015)
