Furthermore, demand-driven technology emphasizes on first-generation technologies that are beneficial to smallholder farmers. It modifies crops and turns them into disease-resistant. However, various factors have influenced the struggle of the agricultural technologies experiment and research, including socio-political and economic aspects. But, when all these are put in place, demand-driven technology is the most effective method compared to the experimental one. In one of the interviews with Cornel Alliance for Science, Dr. Schnurr stated that experimentally driven technology in agriculture requires massive funding, which has been a significant problem (Harrison, 2015, n.d). Therefore, with the little allocated funds, it is possible to focus on the majority of farmers’ demands in a liberal society. Similarly, the little funds can be used in developing programming biotechnology that is beneficial to a large number of farmers in a specific location. By doing focusing on demand-driven biotechnology, adverse implications will be limited or mostly controlled. Hence, demand-driven agriculture technology supersedes the experimental ones.
