Proofreading is the act of reading through a document with the intent of identifying and correcting errors. Errors may be grammatical, spelling, or typographical (Walden University Writing Center, 2015k). Proofreading comes last before the submission of a document. By reviewing the materials provided, I have learned a lot of useful tips about proofreading that I intend to use in next week’s assignment. One of the tips that I plan to put into use next week is distancing myself from the task by setting it aside for a day and proofreading it the following day. I will choose the time of day that I am much more productive to do the proofreading. I also plan to print a hard copy of the assignment and reading aloud and slowly. Another tip that I plan to try out is reading the assignment backward and getting a friend to proofread the work for me.(347words)
