Researchers who opt to conduct their survey using the mixed method research find this research design valuable. The researcher uses multiple approaches for conducting a survey. In this case, the methods allow the researcher to be creative in answering some of the questions that would assist him/her to disseminate an evidence-based hypothesis (Johnson, & Onwuegbuzie, 2004). The mixed method research integrates the quantitative and qualitative research methods in a single study. The mixed research method has been recognized to be a more complex research method since it simply combines the qualitative and the quantitative research methods. The research’s aim is usually to identify relationships and explore phenomena in order to fully understand the subject under study. However, due to the different nature of the two research methods, conflicting underlying assumptions are likely to be held (Creswell & Creswell, 2017). For instance, the method for conducting qualitative research relies on statistics while as the qualitative research relies on content that has been analyzed from interviews, observations or even recordings.(709words)
