taking care of their wife and wife taking care of the homes. However, Chopin shows that Louise loved her husband, although she was uncertain of such feelings. Josephine Louise’s sister perceived that the news of Brently death would hurt her sister, who had heart trouble. ”It was her sister Josephine who told her, in broken sentences; veiled hints that revealed in half concealing” (Chopin, para 2). With Josephine been a close family member to Louisiana, it is arguable that she knew her sister loved her husband. On the other hand, Louisiana felt that she was denied the freedom to live her life as she would please. If they respected each other, they would allow each other to experience the joy of freedom to do things they considered most pleasing. ”And yet she had loved him-sometimes. Often she had not” (Chopin, 13). Although Chopin includes sometimes indicating the uncertainty in her feeling toward him, she loved him, but his control over life was undesirable.
