The reverse side (as known as the Verso side) has three divisions in which the Narmer’s royal name is at the top and to bullheads on either side (Brémont 232). Narmer’s larger size is depicted following a procession, with his name floating on his face. He is wearing a desert, the red crown of Lower Egypt symbolized by papyrus. Narmer’s full height emphasizes a god-like status. His wearing of crowns on both sides of the palette seems to signify that he was believed to be the sole ruler of united Egypt. Narmer holds a scepter and a flail, which are symbols of kingship. On his right side are hieroglyphic symbols of his name in the form of a coiled rope and a loaf of bread. Four standard-bearers walk in front of him, towards ten defeated foes whose beheaded heads are stuck between their legs.
