For this written assignment, select one recent (within the past two years) evidence-based article from a peer reviewed nursing journal that describes a “best practice” in an area of nursing you are interested in. For example, if you would like to be a pediatric nurse, select an article that discusses a best practice in pediatric care.

Cite the article and provide a brief overview of how the results or findings were obtained. Then describe the “best practice.” Conclude your discussion by explaining whether you thought the research findings supported the conclusions and the best practice.

This assignment must be no more than 3 pages long. It should include all of the required elements. Use APA Editorial format and attach a copy of the article.

Answer  preview

End of life (EOL) care in nursing homes requires nurses to understand their roles and strategic nursing skills to use when handling relatives to patients in the imminence of care. By focusing on EOL care in nursing homes, which is an area that interests me, patients and families need nurturance and high understanding when they receive news of an approaching death. Considering that the aging population is increasing, comorbid conditions affect the quality of life for this target group. Specialized care for both patients and nurses is fundamental since it prepares them in accepting bad news regarding the prognosis of imminent death. The implementation of communication as a best practice for promoting open awareness is emphasized by Paulsen, Johnsen, and Hadders (2018) in EOL care.
