Health care organizations face many unprecedented challenges and opportunities. Diversity is a major challenge that continues to overwhelm management teams. This challenge is noticeable in top leadership roles in health care where a lack of diversity exists in the areas of gender, ethnicity, and race. There is a documented need for diverse leadership teams with transformational leadership skills to successfully lead organizations. Remediation of this gap is critical to the advancement of health care delivery and systems. Senior management must consider the deficiency and develop a strategic process to invoke change.Suppose you are the executive director of the hypothetical organization Better Health Today, LLC. The board of directors has informed you that the organization has missed out on major federal funding opportunities over the past three to five years. The grant reviewer’s feedback describes the organization’s lack of diversity and community support to promote social change. The board of directors has asked you to review the issues noted in the reviewer’s feedback and provide recommendations to improve the reputation of the company.
Working environment
For this assignment, develop four questions that could be asked of Alice Jones, senior Netflix executive, during an upcoming negotiation session. This information should be helpful in crafting an integrative bargaining proposal, i.e., a win-win situation that increases the likelihood of reaching a mutually beneficial outcome.
In other words, it meets, as best as possible, the extrinsic and intrinsic interests of both parties.
Specifically, you should keep these criteria in mind:
Create questions that will obtain information about Alice Jones’ interests in the bargaining session. They should cover all four categories: open, closed, alternative, and leading, as defined below. Possible questions could explore Alice Jones’ short- and long-term career plans, personal interests, and any personal challenges she may be facing. In other words, you are trying to determine Alice Jones’ zone of potential agreement (ZOPA) and her best alternative to a negotiated agreement (BATNA).
Open-Ended or Socratic Questions—Begin with who, what, when, where, how, and why. Example: “Why aren’t you taking some time off?”

Listen to a lecture by Thomas Friedman about his famous book “The world is flat.” According to Friedman, one of the forces which have flattened the economic playing field was the use of modern supply chain management.
Recently Pankau Ghemawat, has published a new book: “Redefining Global Strategy: Crossing Borders in a World Where Differences Still Matter” He argues that the world is far from being flat. As a result, businesses (as well as supply chains) should pay close attentions to the differences in different regions and countries.
