CCMH/581: Supervision/Management In Clinical Mental Health Counseling
In counseling supervision, ethical behavior and decision-making is extremely important and required by different ethical codes and legal statutes. This assignment will bring awareness of the ethical codes and legal statutes that relate to clinical supervision and will assist in the process of ethical decision-making through critical thinking.
PIAGET’S PREDICTIONS ON CHILD’S BEHAVIOR
Watch each of the four cognitive development examples in this week’s Learning Resources and decide which Piagetian concepts are depicted in each video. After watching each video, explain whether each child’s response to the tasks follows Piaget’s predictions. How would Piaget explain each child’s demonstrated behavior? Use Piaget’s terms and provide definitions or explanations of those terms. Explain any recent developments in the theoretical literature that might account for the children’s demonstrated behavior.
Child/adolescent interview assignment
Each student will select a child or adolescent to interview (not your own child or a family member). The interview should last approximately 30 minutes for young children and approximately an hour for adolescents. Consider the child/adolescent’s developmental level and life experiences from a multicultural perspective to frame interactions.
