Two weeks ago, she had a computed tomography scan that showed progressive spread of the cancer, and today she has come into the outpatient cancer clinic to begin a new round of chemotherapy. She is accompanied by her 78-year-old mother, Dorothy. A.M. is divorced and has three children who all live out of town. You are the student nurse who has been assigned to A.M. today during your clinical rotation.
