Cyber-bullying is another factor that leads to health challenges experienced by children and adolescents in Brooklyn. Cyber-bullying is an online version of the normal bullying that happens when some young people are threatened and have their rumors spread against them. Today, young people have access to smartphones, and they have social media accounts where they communicate with their friends. During cyber-bullying, young people use social media to spread rumors against the person they hate to spread hatred. They may also use social media to send threatening messages in order to inflict fear in the minds of targeted victims. The victims may develop a mental health problem that makes it hard for them to concentrate on academic activities or interact well with other people. For example, cyber-bullying victim may have depression due to threats that jeopardize his/her social interactions with friends.
