The appointments should be made should the president feel that a strike can cause harm to the welfare of the nation. At the same time, the president can also get an 80-day injunction that will stop the strike. The employer is also not allowed to collect any union fees through the check-off system. Unions are also not allowed to make any contribution of any nature to political campaigns and politicians. All the leaders of the various labor unions were also required to take an oath which stated that they were not communists. When it came to the hiring of employees, the employer was only allowed to hire those who were members of unions as opposed to those who weren’t.
