It is interesting to learn that the issue of colorism was so extreme and in-depth to the extent that during black slavery, the lighter-skinned blacks worked as slaves in places with better conditions unlike others in the heavy labor of the fields. Also, it is captivating to finally learn and understand that colorism does not entirely entail the desire to be white. This is because there are forms of ideal beauty that society may force people to conform to depending on their physical appearances.
