Even though this invention failed to gather extensive usage within clinical settings, its concepts were being used in other fields (Lane, 2018). For instance, the concept was used to assist in the development of the ROBODOC system. This was the first robotic system that received approval from the FDA, and it was designed to help enhance the accuracy of hip replacement surgery.
