Answer preview
The documentary titled “Babies” was created by Thomas Balmes in 2010, and it captured the lives of different infants from four different nations. These children included; Bavarjargal from Mongolia, Ponijao from Namibia, Hattie from the United States, and Mari from Japan (Balmes, 2010). When coming up with this documentary, Balmes’s main aim is to demonstrate the different parenting and cultural practices infants are exposed to and how these practices affect their development. After watching the documentary, I noticed a variance in the cultural practices embraced by Ponijao’s and Hattie’s parents. In Ponijao’s case, her father is not actively involved in her upbringing, considering he does not appear in a single scene in Balmes’s (2010)
