Discussion board and replies
Hi I have submit tow discussion board also, I have submitted student reply please I need a short comment for it
Discussion 1
Describe a real-life situation in which you may want to solve a system of linear equations. What do the y-intercepts represent in your example? What does the solution (or intersection) represent in your example? 100words

Relation between two variables is described by linear equation. A real life example of linear equation is renting a car. Let rent for a car is $10 per day and $0.20 per mile it travelled. This scenario can be described with the help of a linear equation. A linear equation is generally represented as y = mx + c, where m is the slope and c is y-intercept. In the example above, y-intercept is 10 and slope is 0.20. Setting up the equation, y = 0.20x + 10 where x represents number of miles travelled. So if 10 miles are covered the total expense will be y = 0.20(10) + 10. This will result y = $12. So, this is the total expenditure of the trip.
Discussion 2- 85 words
Will the sum or difference of two radical expressions always yield a radical expression? Will the product or quotient of two radical expressions always yield a radical expression? Explain.
Students reply: 50words
The sum or difference of two radical expressions will be the result of these radical expressions either added or subtracted. Meaning if we have square root 2 plus square root 3, this will not be equal to square root of 5, but instead it will be the result of square root two plus the result of square root 3. Whereas the product of the same numbers will be the same as if we multiplied those numbers under the square root. So radical 2 times radical 3 will be the same as radical 6.

Question One
Discussion
A linear question is used to address a real-life situation with constant and two variables. A salesperson receiving a standard wage of $25 per day is paid 20% commission for every item sold. A linear equation is represented by y=mx+ c where y=total wage, m=20%, x=items sold and m is the standard wage. The total wage is the dependent variable while the number of items sold is the independent variable. The y-intercepts represent the wage received when the salesperson sold nothing in a particular day. This represents $25 which is the standard wage paid to a sale person on duty irrespective of whether any sale is made.
Response
Renting a car is a real-life experience that can be expressed with a linear equation. Considering that a standard fee is paid of $ 10 the…
