The invention of plastics revolutionized many aspects of society, such as helping the doctors come up with life-saving devices (incubators); they made traveling much easier since they lightened vehicles and airplanes and are also used to make drinking equipment. The popularity of plastics in society can be attributed to the convenience element it accords the people who use them. However, such convenience led to the emergence of a throw-away culture, which leads to plastic pollution (Patterson, 2019). Over the years, people have slowly become addicted to single-use (disposable) plastics since they can easily move around with them and dispose of them when they are done using them.
