The alleged benefits associated with gene editing can be used to justify the absence of risk, which may put humans in a precarious situation. Due to the possibility of Mosaicism and off-target effects, safety in human beings remains a top priority. Mosaicism occurs when some sets of genes in the body carry out edits while others do not. On the other hand, off-target effects occur when gene editing is undertaken in an unintended place. Therefore, such things are more likely to predispose humans to some uncured diseases or eventually change the ecosystem (Rothschild, 2020).
