Greek sculptures’ development and evolution took place in four stages, Geometric, Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic periods. Greek sculptures developed between 800 and 300 BCE were predominantly inspired by Egyptian and Near Eastern monumental art (Cartwright, 2018). However, as time passed, this art evolved and adopted a uniquely Greek vision of the art form. Greek sculptors’ depiction of human forms in ways never witnessed before marked a new peak in their artistic excellence. The sculptors were primarily concerned with poise, proportion, and the explicit depiction of human body forms in bronze and stone (Cartwright, 2018). Such fascination allowed them to come up with the most recognizable art forms made by any civilization.
