A crime scene refers to an area that may be linked with an occurrence of a crime. After crimes, physical evidence is in most cases left behind, and the crime scene investigators and law enforcers engage in the collection of the evidence. A crime scene might in some cases also involve people and objects. The law enforcers must secure, protect and maintain the integrity of the crime scene so that the evidence is not contaminated. This makes them viable to be used in a court of law.
