Other conditions include urinary tract, congenital anomalies, and renal cystic ciliopathies, accounting for more than 70% of the incidences (Vivante, & Hildebrandt, 2016). Molecular genetic diagnosis for high-risk families shows a high likelihood for children to develop acute and chronic conditions. Glomerulonephritis is influenced by genetic factors that are related to CKD initiation. The mild and moderate CKD incidences are caused by the genetic factors associated with CKD progression (Lin et al., 2019). The severity of CKD in the American population is linked to the inflammation of the glomeruli. The damaging of the glomeruli makes the kidney lose the capacity to perform its function, increasing kidney failure risks. Glomerulonephritis can thus be considered as the primary phenotype for CKD in the children and adult population. However, it is noted there is a critical difference between the genetic factors for initiation that triggers glomerulonephritis and those causing the risk factors for CKD and, eventually, the progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD) (Devuyst, 2014).
