Genes via structural influences create the basis within which the environment acts to shape the behavior of an individual or animal. The environment can affect both morphological and physiological development, which in return develops an individual’s shape and internal workings. Also, environmental flexibility allows animals and individuals to adjust to life changes. Most people believe that their behavior is pre-determined by their genes which is not the case. Many people who come from harmful parenting environments’, violent situations, or drug addictions are not usually locked there. They separate themselves from those environments and shape their behaviors depending on their life choices.
