The cultural difference is mostly the determinant of the success of a business in other countries. A company that does quite well in the local market can flop and become a total failure in other countries if language and cultural differences are not considered. The seven companies who failed in international did so because of cultural difference brought by linguistic differences. A name or a word can have different meanings in other countries. For this reasons companies before who aspires to market overseas need to do some background on peoples’ culture to have an understanding meaning of words and names, they are considering to use. They also need to determine whether imagery used by companies need not be offensive. The product names also should be ones that cannot be translated into something negative. The success of companies in the global market would, therefore, depend largely on company’s effective consideration of bothering the legal and regulatory, and cultural factors of the countries they consider to do product marketing.
