Answer preview

Health is not just an absence of diseases or infirmity but a complete state of physical, mental, and social well-being. Individuals, families, and communities can thrive when they are able to maintain health. Our jobs, financial states, emotional functioning, and spiritual lives are all connected with our overall health. While being healthy is important, it is also good to examine how health and illness are socially constructed (Plianbangchang, 2018). Illness has an independent biological component experienced by an individual and observed by others. However, society has different views about health, illness, and diseases. All cultures have their system of health beliefs to explain what causes diseases, diagnosis methods, and what it takes to treat them. With such cultural beliefs, patients perceive doctors’ information differently, profoundly affecting how they use the information provided to treat diseases and reach a healthy life.
