Over the past few years, there have been notable changes in the medical field, nursing being one of the most rapidly changing professions. These changes experienced in health care have shifted the whole practice of medicine, and nursing is no exception. The evolution of the nursing profession has been contributed by factors such as advancements in technology, changes in leadership, and expansion in nursing roles and responsibilities, among others (Şenyuva, 2019). These factors had made nursing utterly different today compared to when I started my nursing education. The changes have aided in improving patient care by ensuring services provided are efficient and effective. Although, some of these changes pose new challenges to nurses advancing their careers further.
