talks, shows, and other forms of media, that humans only use a maximum of 10% of their brain. However, this article and other research studies have refuted this belief that I and many others have heard repeatedly over the years. According to Travis et al. (2018), the percentage of the brain in use varies depending on the activities the person is doing or thinking about. Also, a research study conducted by the Frontiers in Human Neuroscience debunked this myth to show that humans use more than 10% of their brains. Travis et al. (2018) further explain that the functional magnetic resonance imaging technique provides brain imagery that measures brain activity to show that humans use a large part of their brain even when sleeping or resting. Fact 13 helped me discover some myths I had about my brain.
