When it came to designing the online interface for the HRIS, there was an evident difference in language structure between the British and Americans. For an ordinary individual, it is hard to think about the language barrier considering both groups speak English. For instance, both groups speak English, but words like center and centre are used by British and Americans to mean the same thing. When there are issues concerning language in the online program’s developments, there are more likely to arise problems regarding the appropriate approach, which in return leads to confusion and subsequent delays in the implementation process.
Another challenge experienced in this case was that the codes used in coding activities did not adhere to each cultural group of employees (James Bartlett, and Michelle 2008). Based on the report submitted and relied upon by United States employees, it was not acceptable by employees of British. How the two groups coded, their activities were very different, which resulted in significant challenges during the program’s implementation process.
