Homelessness is one of the significant social problems in the United States especially affecting adolescents. Thousands of adolescents face homelessness every night without parents or guardians and go to sleep without stability, safety, and family or home support. Three thousand three hundred eighty-nine adolescents aged below 18 years, and 34,210 youths aged between 18 and 24 years on one night in 2020 (National Alliance to End Homelessness. 2021, April 2). The data shows that 50 percent of the homeless young adults are unsheltered, and they either sleep in the car, outside or someplace not meant for human habitation. It is estimated that 550,000 unaccompanied teenagers and young adults up to the age of 24 years face homeless episodes of more than a week.
