Being involved as change agents in our practice is a component in the professional role of the nurse. How does quality improvement (QI), evidence-based practice (EBP), and research differ? How are they connected? Please include a quality improvement project you have been involved with, or aware of within your nursing practice. What is the purpose of benchmarking? How is benchmarking valuable or not valuable?
Initial post must be an in-depth critical analysis of a quality improvement project. How was the issue identified? What stakeholders were or should have been involved and why? How was information collected? Evaluated? Outcome?
If not involved in a QI project, what change in your nursing practice would benefit from a QI project and why? How would you move forward with a QI project?
A minimum of one peer-reviewed reference to support your understanding is required.

Based upon your readings and your experience in practice, how has research guided your practice? Why is guided research utilized? Provide examples and/or share your experience in your involvement in guided research. Research is an essential component in many professional fields and more so in the nursing practice. From my experience, research has enabled me to discover new valuable information that contributes to my knowledge as a nurse. Some facts are not covered in the classroom, and hence research allows one to explore deeper into the areas of discussion in the curriculum and venture obtain new knowledge (Kelly, Sadeghieh & Adeli, 2014). Research has also allowed me to test the authenticity of the information I receive from different sources. Technology has made accessibility to information easy. However, some of the information is not factual and is at times posted by people unqualified to write such material. Research has enabled me to discover sources of reliable information…
