Thirdly, researchers need to ensure privacy.   According to Friedland, & Peter, (2020), researchers should not expose a participant’s identity or personal details like name, residential address, among others, to protect them from stigmatization, or harassment from other people.   So, a researcher should safeguard the participants’ privacy interests about access to personal information. Also, researchers need to enhance confidentiality.  Confidentiality means the ability not to disclose given information (Friedland, & Peter, 2020).  Therefore, a researcher needs to protect the confidentiality of the information derived from the participants. They should not share it with other people without permission.  Additionally, the researchers should change a research design the will fit the vulnerable participants instead of excluding them.  As right as it seems, the exclusion of vulnerable participants from research may cause unnecessary harm. Lastly, a researcher should ensure that an independent review of risks and potential is conducted. Researchers should not allow anyone to participate in the research until an independent review reinstates the risks and benefits meet a required threshold.
