Answer preview
Pharmacology is the study of how drugs act on human beings’ systems. Family nurse practitioners (FNP) play an important role in providing primary care to all family members, diagnosing and treating patients daily. The nurse needs to study and practice pharmacologist and drug interactions to help understand how to administer medication and minimize medical errors. With pharmacology knowledge, health care practitioners can safely dispense medication for better outcomes. Also, they can help companies develop and manufacture new and better drugs. A pharmacology course should help an FNP understand the full drug mechanism, physiologic outcomes, absorption mechanism, distribution, drug excretion, and the clinical use of medicines in the diagnosis.
