The Affordable care act changed some of the regulations about the coverage of employees by employers. The ACA increased the smaller firms’ incentive to self-insure, especially in the states that do not regulate stop-loss coverage. Besides, the ACA had the potential to expand the availability of health insurance options and responsibilities of employers and workers, especially for small businesses in America (Hall, 2017). Therefore, as an employer, I understand the new requirements brought about by Obamacare that mandates us to contribute to the employees’ health insurance coverage. One may choose to purchase health cover insurance for the employees, while in some organizations, the employees are insured by the governmental insurance packages. Purchasing health insurance for my employees has several upsides. First of all, there is a wide variety of choices from the employees’ specific plans. Besides, every family member is covered as a separate individual to the employees, which may be more costly than government insurance (Fuchs, 2019). The advantage of insuring the employees compared to government coverage is that private insurance guarantees comprehensive care.
