Initial Post: Identify all the components of a cell. Describe the function of each of these components.
Response #1: Add to your own initial post: Describe cellular metabolism membrane transport and cellular reproduction
Response #2: Add to your own initial post and response #1: Describe the aging process. Identify the pathophysiologic process for 3 underlying principles of aging. Example: oxidative process.

To support your work, use your course and text readings as well as the South University Online Library. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format. Patient or lay person medical information portals such as webMD, Medscape, Mayo Clinic, or any disease foundations, such as the arthritis foundation or the diabetic foundation, are not acceptable resources for your scholarly work.

Answer preview

DNA that regulates metabolism and growth. Chromosomes are thread structures that facilitate the replication and distribution of DNA during cell division. They also perform the function of holding the proteins within the eukaryotic cells. Mitochondria produces chemical energy stored in the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (Reininger, 2018). Its function is the regulation of cells and calcium homeostasis. Also, helps in the maintenance of reprogramming and differentiation of stem cells. Another function of the mitochondria is to regulate the innate immunity of cells through the mitochondrial antiviral signaling protein. It responds to viral infection and pathogens, thus providing a defense mechanism. The last component of cells in the ribosomes.
