Apart from change management strategies, leadership qualities are necessary for the successful implementation of changes. Today, the level of education possessed by MSN-prepared nurses allows them to become leaders in their areas of specification (Tracy & Grady, 2018). Therefore, a geriatric nurse practitioner can become a leader and direct others on what they should do. The following are leadership qualities they should adopt. First, they should be good decision-makers. Decision-making skills are essential for leaders who want to make their work effective. They should be able to reason and come up with solutions whenever a problem arises. Secondly, they should lead by example. Whenever MSN-prepared nurse leaders want to implement change, they should demonstrate that they understand what is contained in the change plan. They should also be on the frontline in accepting what the change brings. The third quality of a nursing leader is the ability to work with others. Change is a process that goes through multiple steps. Hence, a nursing leader should collaborate with other healthcare professionals because change requires all the stakeholders to participate in the process
