However, a disadvantage is employees may encounter distractions when working in their home spaces. Distractions from family, friends, and kids may prevent them from delivering their tasks in good time. Furthermore, the organization may encounter challenges offering telecommuting due to the needed tools, such as computers and routers for high-speed internet, considering not every employee may have these devices.
Despite the disadvantages and challenges of telecommuting, I would still recommend this working arrangement for MedEx because the benefits outweigh the setbacks. Reducing everyday traffic hustles and parking fees due to telecommuting would help the employees use that time to catch up with their tasks. Still, the management could agree with the employees on delivery timelines and emphasize sticking to them to avoid work overload and severe repercussions (Parajuli, 2020). Generally, the improved organizational performance from this working arrangement would increase MedEx’s marketability and reputation in the market.
