1) I have always questioned the ability to work 12 hour shifts and provide consistent safe patient care.In my experience, they all too often turn into 14 hour shifts. Did any of your research address this specifically?
2) Did your research address which style of leadership is best for retaining nurses( Transformational or Authentic). I have worked under many managers that had no business being in their position and fostered a hostile environment.
3.) What specific strategies will you be utilizing to retain new grads in your residency program?

I would like to see my place of work gather feedback from the graduate nurses to see what can be improved about heir program so that they do not finish the residency and immediately seek employment elsewhere. Also I think incentives for the program could be an option, maybe stipulating in their contract that they have to employ with the organization for minimum of two years after residency and the hospital increase their salary too so at least it’s a strategy that helps them stay rather than seek employment elsewhere where they get better salary.
