Gender is a socially constructed concept and characteristics referenced to cultural and social factors and differences rather than biological. Gender determines the characteristics, opportunities, and attributes associated with either being male or female and changes over time and within different cultures and societies. Gender differences are defined as the biological and social differences between males and females.
