What do you think are the most positive aspects of Washington’s positions about how African Americans should be educated and should find accommodation with white Americans? In other words, how does Washington make good sense, considering the time period in which he is writing?

Explain why intelligent design fails to meet the criteria of a scientific theory. In addition to Coyne, the introduction and many of the essays in Intelligent Thought: Science vs. The Intelligent Design Movement, edited by John Brockman, are relevant to answering this question. Choose some of these readings to help you prepare your discussion comments and explain how intelligent design is similar to and how it is different from the argument from design.

You should elaborate on the scenario by writing a letter to a relative or close friend or a diary/journal entry from the perspective of a parent writing about his or her child. Your letter/diary should explain what happened in detail, identify the issues you will need to consider and research in coming up with a solution, and a plan of action for how you will deal with the situation.

1.Explain the concept of the expected-value decision rule. In your discussion, review how the expected-value decision rule played a part in a recent decision you made.

In your initial discussion post this week present an argument that proposes one change to our electoral system. (Please note, it will not be acceptable to say you do not think any change should be made.)
